Steven Rice

Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

Steven Rice has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer since August 2020. Mr. Rice is responsible for overseeing the Company’s human resources, legal, information technology, facilities, and employee communications operations. Mr. Rice held the Chief Human Resources Officer position since joining Vir in September 2019. Prior to joining Vir, Mr. Rice was the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from May 2015 to May 2019 where he led human resources, facilities, events, and travel. Prior to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mr. Rice was the Executive Vice President of global human resources at Juniper Networks, Inc. from February 2006 to May 2015. Mr. Rice also chaired Juniper Networks’ Corporate Foundation. Additionally, Mr. Rice has held several human resources leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard Company from 1981 to 2006, including Vice President of Human Resources Global Operations. Mr. Rice received his A.A. in business administration and management from De Anza College.
