Timothy Coughlin, CPA

Director

Timothy Coughlin has served as a member of our Board since June 2026.

Mr. Coughlin is the former Chief Financial Officer of Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. During his tenure at Neurocrine Biosciences from 2002 to 2018, he played a central role in the company’s transition from a clinical-stage biotechnology company to a fully integrated commercial pharmaceutical organization, including navigating the company through a significant regulatory setback and supporting its subsequent commercial growth.
Prior to joining Neurocrine Biosciences, Mr. Coughlin was with Catholic Health Initiatives, a nationwide integrated healthcare delivery system, where he served as Vice President, Financial Services. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Manager in the Health Sciences practice of Ernst & Young LLP and its predecessors.

Mr. Coughlin currently serves on the boards of directors of several biotechnology companies, including aTyr Pharma, Inc., where he has served since 2017 and as chair since 2024; ADC Therapeutics SA, since 2025; and Travere Therapeutics, Inc., since 2015. He previously served on the boards of directors of Fate Therapeutics, Inc., from 2013 to 2025, and Peloton Therapeutics, Inc. during 2019 prior to its sale to Merck. 

Mr. Coughlin holds a master's degree in international business from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Temple University. He is a certified public accountant in both California and Pennsylvania.
